Borrowing from the open access shelves of the reading rooms

From among the items we placed on the shelves of the reading rooms those documents can be borrowed which bear only one, such colored label that is characteristic of the respective reading room.

The reader selects the document s/he needs, takes it from the shelf, carries it down to the ground floor to the Loan Section where, as a registered reader, s/he can borrow that. The majority of books available from the open access shelves belongs to the „borrowable” category.

The book is not borrowable when beside the colored label characteristic of the respective reading room
  • it bears an additional red label: in this case the book can only be used locally, in the Library;
  • it bears a red label with the inscription „Rövid”: the word means „Short” and indicates that the book is available for borrowing only through the overnight loan (it is borrowable from closing until next opening).
Periodicals like journals, newspapers, dailies, weeklies, magazines, both current issues and bound volumes, are not borrowable in any circumstances.
